Bloom Loud & Proud - A New Series of Limited Edition Fine Art Prints
There's a moment in every girl's life in England when the grey sky has been grey for just a little too long, and you find yourself craving color the way you'd crave sunshine. That's exactly where "Bloom Proud" came from.
The Story Behind the Piece
This painting started in my sketchbook daily art practice. Just a few color block flowers sketched out first in pastels with no plan beyond doodling. Sometimes these works sit in a sketchbook and aren't developed further. I rediscovered this one recently and saw the potential it had. Next I reworked it a bit, adding more oil pastels, contrast and texture. The key is staying playful and allowing the work to be fun. I really had fun with this!
The end result is bold. Pink petals next to marigold orange, a slice of cobalt blue tucked in like a secret, all of it grounded in rich, green. No soft watercolor blooms here. These flowers stand up straight and take up space.
I named it Bloom Proud because I believe in blooming, reinventing ourselves, blooming again and again. Late bloomers, early bloomers, just keep blooming. Be yourself. Don't apologize for being colorful in a world that sometimes wants everything muted and neutral. Plus, seeing colors like this in our homes daily makes us feel happy. Chromatherapy!
Why It Works in a Home
Look at how it lands in a room like the one above. A quiet cream wall, warm wood tones, a vintage radio and a little trailing plant nearby, and then this piece slips right in as the moment your eye lands on first. That's the trick with a bold color block piece like this one. It doesn't need a maximalist room to shine. It actually does its best work as the single unexpected note in an otherwise calm, neutral space. One piece of confident color can do more for a room than a dozen matching accents.
It's why I love seeing this print above console tables, bar carts, and reading nooks. Anywhere that could use a little lift.
The Details
"Bloom Proud" is part of my bold graphic floral series, a body of work that leans into color and the emotional impact it has on our feelings. I'm focusing on color, shape & texture, rather than realism.
This is a limited edition series. Each print is made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Giclée paper for rich, true to life color, and you can choose to leave it unframed or have it framed in solid wood, in black, white, or oak, to match your space.
Each print is digitally signed by me and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The original painting was made by hand with pastel and oil pastel, so expect imperfections. (But isn't that great? The world has enough AI art. You can be sure this was made by a human being!) Supporting independent artists is always cool.
