Bringing the English Garden Home: A Look Inside My Cottagecore Throw Pillow Collection

When I left Southern California for a quiet corner of the English countryside, I didn't realize just how much my life would change. Something about the hedgerows, the cottage gardens and the roses that seem to bloom on every corner has cracked something open in me. I've been marinating in the beauty of the countryside near Bath, UK for four years now and it is safe to say that it has fully seeped into my artwork and is slowly taking over my brand. This shift from LA life to my "English countryside era" can best be seen in my new cottagecore throw pillow collection. 

Each pillow starts as an original painting before it ever becomes something you can cuddle up with on your sofa.  Here is a look at a few of my favorites, and the stories behind them.

The Hannah Pillow

This is the design that began it all.  My 5 year old daughter Hannah is always in my studio making art with me and we originally made this one to compliment her beautiful blush pink room. I've always been a fan of Shabby Chic and her room is done in Pottery Barn kids white with ruffles and this design is meant to be rose petals from the gorgeous climbing roses we see all around our village. Soft and feminine and pink.

The Layla Rose Pillow

Keeping with the English rose theme, the next design was made with my gorgeous 13 year old niece Layla Rose as the inspiration. The darker pinks with hints of purple and greenery of an English garden in full bloom.

The Susan Pillow

The feeling of home and comfort that can be accessed through nostalgic childhood memories in my mother's room inspired this design.  Rich peach and terracotta colored roses amongst English ivy greenery makes this the perfect cottage core compliment. Named after my mother Susan.

The Milana Pillow

An original impressionist rose garden painting in purples, lavenders and hints of yellow, pink and green. This is the kind of piece that layers beautifully with linen textures, vintage furniture, and striped patterns adding depth and charm to a curated cottagecore or farmhouse space. Inspired by my beautiful niece, Milana.
