Acrylic and oil on cotton canvas 64 x 44 inches (163 x 112 cm)
A garden in full, joyful bloom. Clusters of hyacinth blue, sunny yellow blocks and soft pinks gather above swaying green stems, layered into a patchwork of pattern and pastel light.
The title brings together two places close to my heart: the elderflower that fills English hedgerows each spring, and El Segundo, the California beach town where I worked for 15 years before moving to the UK.
Like all of my recent work, it's exploring themes of identity and a love of two places. My love of Los Angles and my love of Somerset England.
