Hartley was the street my Oma and Opa called home for sixty years, and their garden was where I first fell in love with flowers. My Oma was a painter too, and she had a small studio where she would let me paint when I was a child. Those Southern California summers, swimming in her pool, surrounded by the flowers in her garden, the hummingbirds, the smell of popcorn she would make, these childhood memories are woven into who I am as an artist.
This bouquet, nestled in a green milk glass vase with its beautiful frilly edge, is my love letter to all of it.
